Fleming and Baron manufacture steel doors and frames for the commercial, industrial and institutional markets and part of the ASSA ABLOY Group.

We are currently seeking a Junior Accountant for a one year contract to be based in our Woodbridge, Ontario Canada headquarters.


Job Summary

Reporting to the Controller, the Junior Accountant has responsibility for the coordination and completion of financial related activities for the Company in order to assist in the proper financial management of the company.  The ideal candidate is continuous improvement focused, detail oriented, and is a strong team member.


Key Responsibilities

  • Perform daily bank reconciliations and other account reconciliations on a routine basis;

  • Perform monthly accounting cycle activities such as journal entries, analysis of general ledger accounts, month end reporting;

  • Monitor and ensure inter-company transactions are equal, offsetting and eliminated where necessary;

  • Assist with special projects, including preparation of the year end income tax package, fixed asset, inventory count, ERP Improvements, etc.

  • Provide assistance with internal / external audits;

  • Other responsibilities as required.


Education and Experience

  • University degree in business, economics or accounting

  • Minimum of 1 year accounting experience in a corporate finance department

  • Experience with ERP systems

  • Strong Microsoft Excel skills
