• HID Global is looking for a Trade Analyst (EMEA) to be responsible for supporting the local operation in conducting the daily import and export activities, ensuring that they are conducted according to internal policies and procedures, and in compliance with all local regulations. This role will be the primary interface between the local operation and all logistics and brokerage service providers.

• Position will be based in Galway, Ireland.



Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.


• Coordinate with Customer Service, Shipping & Supply Chain to deliver a range of services in support of company on time delivery goals:

o Provide instructions for pre-lodging export declarations

o Review export routings

o Advise on country specific requirements

• Act as the primary point of contact for freight forwarders/fast parcel operators and brokers towards the timely release of HID's import and export shipments within EMEA, in particularly for:

o Reviewing shipping documentation,

o Providing clearance instructions

o Responding to broker queries

o Resolving shipment delay issues

• Conduct export license screening and determine, obtain and report applicable export license authorization;

• Update ERP system with Trade data - HTS/ECCN/COO

• Review and resolve hits identified by RPS system

• Manage EMEA Trade Compliance queries queue;

• Issue periodic Manufacturer's Affidavits/Supplier Declarations for the customers or Chamber of Commerce

• Attend operational meetings to discuss Trade issues;

• Manage, audit and maintain records of export documentation to ensure accuracy and compliance with regulatory requirements (proof of export)



• Maintain require Trade administrative and accounting records in accordance with company policy and local import/export regulations;

• Audit import entries to ensure correct payment duties/taxes

• Manage post-entry amendments of trade transactions, determine root cause and implement procedure to eliminate future issues

• Deferment account reconciliation

• Compile and maintain import/export statistics to report Trade management metrics, i.e. duty spend, export/import value;

• Revise region's Trade procedures and work instructions;

• Support corporate-wide strategic export and import initiatives;

• Support implementation of special customs and security programs, e.g. AEO and AES.

• Extensive experience working in Import and Export operations, as well as a solid understanding of the all-around processes.

• Organized, detail-oriented and analytical professional whilst possessing excellent interpersonal and communication skills

• Exceptional analytical skills with a strong systems acumen



Education and/or Experience

• Associate's degree in International Business or related discipline preferred;

• Must have solid understanding of fundamental Import/Export processes, documentation and legislation;

• Good understanding of transportation solutions, Incoterms and international payment methods;

• Commercial contract awareness;

• Working knowledge of import/export concepts including: HS classification, export controls and licensing, route transactions, valuation, landed costs, rules of country of origin and entry documents;

• Minimum 5 years' experience conducting Import / Export transactions

• Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills;

• Strong analytical and presentational skills;

• Must be resourceful, flexible, organized, detail-oriented, and team-oriented

• Previous experience with regional customs special programs a plus




Language Skills

• Ability to communicate effectively in the English language verbally and in writing.

• Ability to read and interpret technical journals, specifications, international technical standards, etc.



Computer Skills

• Proficient in MS Office applications, such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.

• Familiar with operating systems, such as Windows, etc.



Customer Expectations

• Ability to clearly and effectively communicate with internal team regarding trade documentation, permissible practices, and support problem resolution

• Ability to work independently and support multiple projects



Work Requirements

• Compliance to all relevant HID Global policies and procedures related to Quality, Security, Safety, Business Continuity, and Environmental systems.

• Travel and fieldwork including international travel, therefore employee must possess or can acquire a valid passport.

• Must be legally eligible to work in the Republic of Ireland.
